Technology Connection Return Policy & Procedures
(All hardware & software
returns must be inspected
by
Technology Connection staff prior to refund.)
Computer
Hardware & Electronics
Computer
hardware may be returned up to (7) seven calendar days
under the following conditions:
- Unopened
stock computer hardware may be returned within (7) seven
calendar days for a full refund with a valid receipt.
- A
20% restocking fee will apply on all opened returned
items. Opened product must be returned undamaged, include
all packaging materials, and be in resalable condition.
Credit given only on Store Gift Card.
- Special
or Build-to-Order Computers may be returned up to (7)
seven calendar days from the date of purchase with a
valid receipt and are subject to the following restocking
fees. Some exclusions may apply:
Unopened
Box 20%
Opened Box 25%
Opened product must be returned undamaged, include all packaging materials,
and be in
resalable condition.
- Build-to-Order
or custom computer orders that are cancelled after shipping
from the manufacturer are subject to a 20% restocking
fee.
- Computer
hardware & electronics cannot be returned after (7)
seven calendar days from date of purchase.
- Computer
upgrades and clearance hardware CANNOT be returned or
exchanged. Defective products may be exchanged for the
same product within (7) seven calendar days.
- Opened
consumables of any kind CANNOT be returned. This includes
printer cartridges, computer media, and some software.
- Defective
computer hardware & electronics will be repaired
or replaced at our discretion up to (7) seven calendar
days from date of purchase. After (7) seven calendar
days, defective computer hardware and electronics are
subject to the manufacturer’s warranty.

Software
Computer
software may be returned up to (7) calendar days from the
date of purchase under the following conditions, other
exclusions may apply:
- Unopened
stock software may be returned within (7) calendar days
from the date of purchase for a full refund.
- Open
copies of “active registration”* software
CANNOT be returned for a refund. These products may be
exchanged if found to be damaged or defective. Active
registration software includes, but is not limited to,
Microsoft xp products. Please see a sales associate for
additional information.
- A
20% restocking fee will apply on all opened returned
items. Opened product must be returned undamaged, include
all packaging materials, and be in resalable condition.
- Most
special order software may be returned up to (7) seven
calendar days from the date of purchase with a 20% restocking
fee. Software licensing products CANNOT be returned.
- Defective
software may be exchanged for the same product within
(7) seven calendar days.
- Clearance
or sale software and hardware CANNOT be returned or exchanged.
- Computer
software CANNOT be returned or exchanged after (7) seven
calendar days from the date of purchase.
Delivery
is free to Cornell departments on the Ithaca Cornell campus.
The Technology Connection cannot provide delivery to private
residences.
Delivery is available to Cornell residence halls with payment of a non-refundable
delivery charge.
Computer setup is NOT provided by The Technology Connection, and is the responsibility
of the purchaser.
For
any item(s) in stock and available at the time you place
your order, The Technology Connection guarantees you
the selling price quoted to you.
For any item(s) not in stock at the time you place your order, please note
that the selling price quoted to you by The Technology Connection is an
estimate. You will be notified if there is a discrepancy when we place
the order with the manufacturer. We will make every effort to honor the
quoted price, but cannot guarantee pricing for products that are not in
stock at the time your order is placed.

Personal
Purchases:
Eligibility Requirements
Students wishing
to purchase from The Technology Connection must be enrolled
in a course of study leading to a degree from Cornell
University, or an entering student who has graduated
from high school, been accepted by Cornell, submitted
a non-refundable payment to Cornell and returned the
coupon indicating intent to enroll at Cornell.
Faculty and staff members
directly associated with Cornell University's academic
mission are also welcome to purchase. Temporary staff,
adjunct faculty and faculty whose appointments are less
than four months may not eligible.
Purchase Restrictions
When you purchase hardware
or software from The Technology Connection, you are certifying
that the products purchased are for your own personal,
educational and/or research use.
On-Campus Delivery Program
for Faculty and Staff
The Technology Connection
offers free on-campus delivery for departmental purchases.
Simply provide the delivery address to the sales consultant
and our delivery staff will deliver the order to any
on-campus office location.
Faculty and staff personal purchases can be delivered on campus for a fee.
Contact a sales consultant for details and fees.
Payment
We accept cash, check, CornellCard,
Master Card, Visa, Discover, or any combination of these.
If the payment is via check, please be prepared to show
two forms of valid identification.
Payment in full is required
when you place your order.

Department
Purchases Under $5000.00:
If each item on an order is under $5000, you simply
need to supply us with an account number or Procurement
Card, department name, delivery address, contact person,
phone number and a list of the items you wish to order.

Purchases Over $5000.00:
- Call the Technology
Connection at (607) 255-4941 or use this web site
to get a quote or part numbers with prices.
- Create a Purchase Order
in APPS with Technology Connection as the vendor.
- After receiving the
product, enter a receiver in APPS against the Purchase
Order.
- Billing will be against
the PO on your University Statements.
