In
1996, Granta named Stewart O'Nan, M.F.A. '92, one of America's
Best Young Novelists. He has won numerous international
awards for his writing. His books include the novels "Everyday
People", "Snow Angels", "The Names of
the Dead", "A World Away", "A Prayer
for the Dying", and the short-story collection "In
the Walled City", as well as the narrative non-fiction
"The Circus Fire" and the anthology "The
Vietnam Reader". Currently, Stewart O'Nan teaches at
Ithaca College.
Paul
Cody, M.F.A in Fiction Writing '87, won the Arthur Lynn
Andrews Award for Best Short Fiction two consecutive years.
Paul stayed close to Cornell, lecturing here and serving
in editorial capacities on the "Cornell Alumni Magazine".
After a teaching position at Hobart and William Smith Colleges,
he took his current job at Ithaca College, where he is an
Assistant Professor in the Department of Writing. His latest
book, "Shooting the Heart," was released in May
2004.
